Life at Little King's

Life at Little King's

Here at Little King's we start the journey for your little ones from the age of three to five.  The Pre-School class, has children from 3 to 5 years old for a minimum of eight sessions per week (made up of full days or mornings) moving onto Reception where the children are 4 to 5 years old and in full time education.

During your child’s Reception year they continue to be taught the Foundation Stage curriculum that they will have began in their Pre-school year. This will prepare them for Lower Transition, when they enter Key Stage 1.

Whilst fun and exciting, your child’s Reception year is an important stage in their education, providing the roots of future learning, academically, socially and emotionally.

Our Little King’s building is located as part of the Junior School making children and parents feel part of the wider King’s community.

How we communicate to our Parents

At Little King’s we ensure that all children attending the setting have a personal Learning Journal which records photos, observations and comments, in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage, to build up a record of each child’s achievements. It will also show children’s developmental progress through the different age bands of the EYFS.

At Little King’s we use an online Learning Journal system (Tapestry), allowing staff and parents to access the information from any computer via a personal, password protected login.
