2025
Our most recent inspection took place in October 2025. Inspectors had an excellent visit and commented on the friendly, purposeful atmosphere which is apparent every day.
"Teaching across the school is characterised by well-planned lessons, clear learning objectives, and purposeful sequencing that ensures continuity and progression."
Their main findings were that:
- Leaders ensure an environment where pupils are supported so that they feel happy, valued and make good progress.
- Teachers use their good subject knowledge to plan lessons that have high expectations and motivate and encourage pupils to learn well.
- As a result pupils make good progress and show focus, curiosity and pride in their work.
- Pupils are attentive, well behaved and engage with their learning enthusiastically, developing skills, knowledge and independent thinking.
- The range of co-curricular activities on offer, including sport, music and drama enables pupils to develop a broad range of skills.
- Pupils can establish their own pupil-led societies, such as creative writing and the law society. These activities encourage social awareness, creativity, physical and leadership skills.
- The well-structured pastoral provision, supported by the availability of a wellbeing counselling service, helps pupils feel valued and understood from their earliest years in the school.
- The physical education (PE) programme is designed to be inclusive and also to facilitate elite success for those with particularly high attainment.
- Leaders and staff treat pupils with kindness, which, in turn, encourages pupils to treat others with respect and kindness too. This contributes to pupils’ self-esteem and confidence.

- We met every single one of the compliance standards.
- The two verdicts (on pupil achievement and pupil personal development) were the highest level possible: ‘Excellent’ in both categories.
- Our careful planning for a steady, incremental growth of the school roll was also approved.
