The Bursary Endowment Fund

Transforming lives

We meet individuals with great potential who would flourish at King’s but we know that they may not have the means to make the most of this potential. We want to be able to offer some of these individuals an opportunity to develop their talent to its full potential - whether that be on the sports field, in the classroom or on the stage - and transform their life chances.

A key aim of the school is to recruit pupils from a range of backgrounds who will play a full, successful part in the life of the school.  So when we see individuals with talent who could fulfil this aim, we see an opportunity to invest in them.

We already provide a significant amount of financial support in the form of scholarships and bursaries which accounts for over 15% of our annual fee income. This figure is 50% higher than the UK independent school average.

By building our Bursary Fund many more children will be able to benefit from all the King’s has to offer.

As well as transforming lives through opportunity, we know diverse experiences and ideas encourage all our pupils to think differently and embracing pupils from a range of backgrounds enriches the learning experience for all.

We want to do more; but we can’t do it alone

The Bursary Endowment Fund – how it works

A bursary is a form of financial assistance which is means-tested. Bursaries are not dependent on academic or co-curricular ability but are awarded to pupils who are likely to gain most from a King’s education.

The money for bursaries comes out of the school’s income. We have created a Bursary Endowment Fund to reduce the impact on the school’s day-to-day finances. The aim is to create a substantial, enduring fund which will over time yield enough interest to award transformative bursaries (75% fee remission and above) to very talented, Gloucestershire children.

How you can donate to The Bursary Endowment Fund

We are delighted that you may be considering supporting our King's Gift Campaign.  We have set up three easy ways of doing this. By following the links below your donations will go towards transformational bursaries.

Making a difference month-by-month

We understand that not everyone will be in a position to leave a legacy or make a single donation and may, instead, prefer to give a smaller amount on a monthly basis.  We have incorporated the school’s founding date of 1541 as the basis for these donations.

Donations can start from £1.54 per month, £15.41 per month or £154.10 per month!

You can set up a monthly donation HERE.

One-off donations

Alternatively, a single donation can be made, or you may wish to organise a donation amongst your group of alumni friends.
