Creating Inspirational Educational Spaces
Our aim is to ensure the ongoing financial success of the school which will allow us to invest in our educational facilities and ensure that not only are they an inspirational buildings in which to teach and learn, but that they are also they are fit for the needs of 21st century learning.
These are just a few of the major projects which have been completed since 2018:
You will definitely still recognise the beautiful buildings of King’s when you next visit, but we hope that you will be impressed by the scale of investment and see the impact that it has on our pupils’ lives.
You will also see that there is still more to do for future generations of King’s pupils. With growing financial and political pressure on the school’s resources, we need help from alumni to enable us to improve facilities further still.
If you would like to visit the school to tour our campus and facilities, please contact our Head of Alumni Relations, George Smith ([email protected]) to arrange a suitable date.
Our Priorities for 2025 - 2035
Below are just a few of the school's major capital development priorities, but we would be delighted to share with you the full list of our asprations:
- Performining Arts Centre - Music and Performing Arts are absolutely thriving at King’s. However, we lack a large, flexible, purpose-built space to seat 300+. The Cathedral and School Hall are in regular use already and are constrained. The Performing Arts Centre would also double as an Exam Hall for public exams since we no longer have access to the Chapter House. Cost £3 million.
- Little Cloister House - Over the summer of 2024 work commenced on a new School Archive and the refurbishment of Little Cloister Hall - one of the oldest classrooms in the world. Work is now much needed to upgrade the History and Politics department and restore this much-loved building to its former glory, with energy efficiency and C21st teaching at the heart. Cost £500,000.
- Archdeacon Pavilion - As the School has grown, our sporting aspirations have grown too. We now play stronger schools from a wider area, often fielding C and D teams in addition to our top-flight squads. A new sports pavilion would offer more changing rooms to allow more fixtures, a hospitality area for post-match refreshments, a viewing platform across the pitches and astroturf, as well as better storage and toilets for guests. Cost £1 million.

Making a difference month-by-month
We understand that not everyone will not be in a position to leave a legacy or make a single donation and may, instead, prefer to give a smaller amount on a monthly basis. We have incorporated the school’s founding date of 1541 as the basis for these donations.
You can donate from as little as £1.54 per month, £15.41 per month or £154.10 per month!
You can set up a monthly donation HERE.
One-off donations
Alternatively, a single donation can be made, or you may wish to organise a donation amongst your group of alumni friends.
