After their successful take over of the Turbine Hall at the Tate over the Easter Holidays, we were delighted to welcome Woodland Tribe to King's on Saturday 7th May.

A series of workshops were held throughout the day for over 60 children from King's Junior School and Kingsholm C of E Primary School, enabling the children to engage in ‘adventure play’ constructing amazing, creative and sculptural play areas. Our King's Art Scholars were also on hand to facilitate the fun and practical sessions, with plenty of climbing, engineering and construction taking place.

Parents and King’s staff were involved supporting children who created large scale wooden climbing structures throughout the day that wrapped around Wardle Garden. Ownership was entirely given over to the young participants who built confidence, skills and freedom of creativity in a wonderful setting and atmosphere of friendship and community.

Our thanks to the King's Art Department for creating this excellent project, along with Woodland Tribe and to everyone who came to this hugely enjoyable day.
