This August, King's were delighted to host the Gloucester City Holiday, Activity and Food programme (HAF) once again.

Bloodhound Education ran rocket making workshops over the four Wednesdays in August, with over 20 families attending each week. King's pupils helped with the workshops and also prepared and served a delicious lunch to all those attending.

At the end of the summer the HAF team and Gloucester families came together on the King's Paddock for a huge celebration.  There were bouncy castles, a HAF Olympics (with medals awarded by Headmaster, David Morton), a giant climbing wall, archery and face-painting for all to enjoy. Community groups such as the Music Works, Gloucester City Council, Gloucester Rugby Club and Bloodhound with their replica land speed record breaking vehicle, were also there to support the event and a giant food wagon ensured everyone received a delicious and healthy, free lunch.

The HAF programme's purpose is to make sure children and young people are entertained, active, educated, safe and fed during school holidays. Over the three years that King's have been involved we've seen the programme go from strength to strength, with more families enjoying the activities and enjoying tasty, healthy lunches during the school holidays; it's a fabulous opportunity for King's to strengthen links within our City.
