To Oxford.. and beyond!

Three hundred prospective Oxford University applicants packed the King’s School Hall on 19th September to learn more about this world-renowned university. King’s was delighted to host the outreach event in Association with the Oxford University Society (Gloucester branch). Pupils from a wide variety of local maintained and independent schools attended. The application process was de-mystified by Marrium Khan, the Senior Access Officer for Lady Margaret Hall College.

There followed a panel discussion with eight current Oxford under-graduates from a range of disciplines. The school was delighted to welcome back Tom Swift and Jeremy Stanger, alumni of The King’s School, who are both now studying Physics at Oxford. With plentiful supplies of tea, coffee and biscuits, discussion flowed freely and a great deal of information was exchanged.

Headmaster, David Morton, commented:

‘We are fully committed at King’s to widening access both to our own school and to top universities such as Oxford. It was a pleasure to welcome so many bright, inquisitive and passionate students to King’s this evening.’
