Gloucester Cathedral Choir sing at St Paul's Cathedral
Gloucester Cathedral Choir sang at the 364th Festival of Sons & Friends of the Clergy on Tuesday 15 May at St Paul's Cathedral.
The Cathedral Choir performed Herbert Howell’s Latin Setting of the Nunc Dimittis as part of the service. They also joined the Choirs of St Paul’s Cathedral and Chelmsford Cathedral to sing a triple choir motet by Palestrina called Laudate Dominum in tympanis, and Hubert Parry’s famous anthem, Hear My Word’s Ye People. We even climbed the 259 steps to the famous Whispering Gallery in the dome of St Paul’s Cathedral. The choristers were very fortunate to have the opportunity to sing as part of this historic service, and we are very proud of their excellent contribution.
