Heritage Prayer Walk
This week we welcomed the return of our Heritage Prayer Walk, 'Beating the Bounds'.
'Beating the Bounds' is an ancient custom which used to involve walking the boundaries of a church parish and marking them out by beating them with sticks. It is a custom still observed in some parts of Britain and is a tradition which we have upheld for many years.
A group made up of students, parents and teachers were led by our Chaplain, John Webster, and were told the history of the buildings within our boundary. At each stop, a prayer was read and the 'Beating of the Bounds' was performed.
It is important for us as a school to celebrate our distinguished history and re-tell the stories which have shaped us in to the King's that we know and love today.
