Senior School Foundation Day
In a new twist to the traditional end of term celebrations, Foundation Day was bigger and better than ever before.
In what was a much more interactive day, each student also experienced a Review of the Year and some of the finest music, dance and drama from their peers in the Hall. The year was expertly reviewed in reports by those who had experienced it and we re-lived trips, tours and visits too.
In the Cathedral we held the traditional prize-giving service and welcomed our Guest of Honour, Helen Sharman CMG, OBE. In 1991, aged just 27, Helen became the first British Astronaut to spend eight days orbiting the Earth on the International Space Station. As well as giving the pupils their prizes, Helen also gave an inspirational speech, including an insight into life in the space capsule and also food for thought on how our leavers' journey might develop as they become "the future stars of tomorrow".
In true King's tradition, the Upper Sixth had an emotional farewell at Dulverton with fizz and confetti cannons, before we all gathered at Archdeacon Meadow for sport, ice cream, pizza, Pimm’s (thank you to the KSPA) and a host of other goodies - it was a wonderful, celebratory and fun end to the school year.
You can see all the highlights here - in what must be the largest photo gallery this year!
