Creative Writing in Derbyshire
Miss Forrest and Miss Davies took eight Fourth Form pupils to Hartington in Derbyshire for a weekend of creative writing activities. They stayed in the youth hostel, Hartington Hall, which is a wonderful old manor house - and is haunted, providing much inspiration over the weekend!
Pupils worked on a portfolio of creative writing pieces: poetry, prose and dramatic monologues. In the evenings, they shared their creative writing, played sardines and told ghost stories. But it wasn't all about writing - the pupils and teachers walked the length of Dovedale on Saturday, and visited the spa town of Buxton on Sunday.
The trip was part of the English Enrichment programme to encourage creative writing within the School.
