The King’s School Bond open for investment
The King’s School Bond is now open for investment, giving parents the opportunity to invest in the redevelopment of Dulverton House.
The building dates back to the C13th and has been a much-loved Sixth Form Centre for generations of King’s students. Now, however, the spaces within the building are small, tired and unsuited to the aspirations of our students and optimising their learning. Through the bonds, we are seeking to raise up to £2.25 million to make Dulverton House a first-class working environment for our Sixth Form pupils, to prepare them for the world of work or Higher Education. The redevelopment will create a thoroughly modern and flexible workspace, while restoring and preserving many of the architectural features of this historic building.
The redevelopment will be funded by the issue of bonds by Allia Impact Investments, a charity that specialises in issuing bonds on behalf of other charities. It will be the issuer of the bonds and the funds it raises will be lent to King’s.
You can invest in the bonds from £5,000, with interest payable on the bonds at 3% each year (and investors subscribing for £200,000 or more of the bonds can choose to invest with interest payable at 4% each year), and your investment will be returned after 7 years. However, you should be aware that if you choose to invest in the bonds your capital would be at risk and your investment would not be covered by an investor compensation scheme.
The closing date for applications for the bonds is 24 January 2020, though the offer may close sooner if fully subscribed.
