Meet our new Head of Sixth Form
King's appoint an inspirational new Head of Sixth Form at an exciting time in the School’s rich history
We are pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Tom Horler-Underwood as the new Head of Sixth Form. This appointment comes at an exciting time in the history of the school; King’s is currently investing £2.5m in a visionary re-development of its Sixth Form Centre which will establish it as one of the finest in the region.
Tom, who teaches history and politics, was previously the Head of Sixth Form at Warminster School in Wiltshire. Of his first days at King’s, Tom commented, “What stood out to me most was the warmth and strength of the community here, which is something I feel very excited and proud to be part of. The School treats each student as an individual; developing their curiosity, engagement, determination and independence. As Head of Sixth Form, I am looking forward to providing the support and the guidance to our students to enable them to fulfil their goals and ambitions.”
The existing Sixth Form Centre, dating back to the thirteenth century, is packed with historic features and has been home to generations of King’s students. The re-development will be completed later this year and provide pupils with a creative work and social space, fit for 21st Century learning.
