Our Choristers had the great thrill of singing in a tremendous symphony by Gustav Mahler in the Bridgewater Hall, Manchester.  It was a wonderful experience for them to perform as guests of the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra.  Our Choristers were invited ahead of any of the choristers of the cathedrals in the North or the Midlands, which is a testament to their good reputation.

It was a long day, and the choristers worked very hard, but the experience was an inspiring one that will remain with our young singers for the rest of their lives. The conductor, Juanjo Mena was very impressed by the children’s singing, and enjoyed the vibrancy of their voices, and their splendid high notes.

Mr Partington said:
‘All the choristers sang brilliantly, and deserved the huge and lengthy applause they were given at the end of the symphony.’
The concert will be broadcast on Radio 3 on October 3 at 7.30pm.
