Annual Visit from Showa High School for Girls
King’s School, Gloucester was delighted to host the visit of The Showa High School for Girls again this year from the 20th to the 21st March. Thirty-eight 6th Form pupils and five teachers arrived for lunch on the Tuesday and then gave a special presentation of music, dance and singing to our First Year students followed by a workshop on origami and calligraphy. Every First Year pupil went home either with a beautiful origami bird or their name in calligraphy. They all really enjoyed themselves and despite living over 6,000 miles apart they had many common interests.
On the Wednesday the Showa High School Girls came to Chapel and then went on a tour of the School before spending time in lessons throughout the School. Jack Harvey and Eleanor Hapeshi gave short talks on the History of Kings and Harry Potter before the group left for a tour of the Cathedral.
Mr Jeffery Mikamo White, the Co-ordinator of the Tour, said how much they had enjoyed their visit and praised in particular our 6th Form guides. We look forward to welcoming them again next year.
