Upper Shell Team Building Day at Mallards Pike
Upper Shell (Y6) made the annual journey to Mallards Pike for the first of many activities planned for the year. As soon as we arrived, we were welcomed by Mark who set the children the task of building a raft from just 3 things: rope, barrels and logs.
After a quick demo, 3 teams were created and the building began. The Upper Shell teachers were very impressed with the teamwork witnessed by all groups, and after an hour and a half, 3 rafts were created. The next challenge was to see if they would float and make it across the lake and, surprisingly, they all did! The instructors put the rafts through more vigorous tests by having the children rock and stand up on them whilst the wind and the rain started.
Madness ensued after by what can only be called a drenching… well nobody was going to stay dry were they?!
