Ivy – a true Tour de Force
Third form pupil and budding ballerina Ivy, proved that she is truly a Tour de Force in the world of ballet with two major achievements recently.
In April she won the prestigious ISTD international ballet competition competing against the top ballet dancers from across the UK and Europe.
Ivy has now been offered a place as a Senior Associate with the Birmingham Royal Ballet School, which is awarded to only a very few of the top UK ballet dancers. The Associate programme nurtures young, talented students between the ages of 8 and 17 in pursuit of excellence in pre-vocational classical ballet training. This means Ivy will start her training each weekend at the Birmingham Hippodrome from September, whilst continuing her studies during the week at King’s.
This is a tremendous achievement and huge commitment on Ivy’s part, but we know with her enthusiasm and talent she will go far. Remember you saw her at King’s first!
