Dressed in clothes similar to the style of the 1940's some children in Upper Prep walked to St Oswald's Retirement Village to share the afternoon with the historical group who were having a street party to celebrate the end of WW2. The residents were so welcoming and were delighted by the children's singing of some well known songs from the 1940's.

They joined in with Pack up your Troubles and It's a long way to Tipperary in 2 parts followed by Run Rabbit run and were moved by the beautiful singing of White Cliffs of Dover. Pupils and residents listened to a fascinating and amusing poem which Alan had written of memories of his childhood. Two residents entertained everyone with some songs with their ukuleles. The children were treated to tea and chatted to residents about the differences in their childhoods.
