Harvest Festival
The pupils of Reception and the School Councillors began our Harvest Festival with food offerings for Foodbank, which were later collected by the Gloucester branch. Three of our parents kindly baked harvest loaves for our displays.
Canon Nikki Arthy welcomed a full congregation of pupils and parents to St Mary de Lode. Elijah and Olivia read the read the creation story from Genesis. Throughout the service, harvest hymns were sung and each year group sang a suitably festive song. Lower Prep performed an energetic dance around the church to the class songs.
Mrs Sara Hobbs, one of our assistant school chaplains, spoke to us all about being grateful for what we have - ‘attitude of gratitude’. After prayers read by Patrick, Georgie and Matilda, King’s Voices finished our service by singing ‘Beautiful World’.
Donations from parents was given to the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution who provide farming families in England and Wales with financial support at times of hardship.
