In November 2022 RSAcademics were commissioned to undertake an independent survey of Junior School parents.  The objective was to give an insight into parental opinion, what is particularly valued, to gauge attitudes to a wide range of aspects of school life and to understand where parents would like to see the school develop in the future.  Over 69% of parents responded and the results were benchmarked against a selection of other Independent Prep Schools across the country.

In summary, King's Junior School is very highly rated by parents. It is seen as a nurturing and caring community in which children develop a genuine love of learning and are supported and encouraged to excel as individuals.

  • 89% of parents are ‘completely satisfied’ or ‘very satisfied’ with the school and 99% are at least ‘fairly satisfied’. 97% of parents would definitely or probably recommend the school, 95% have had their expectations met or exceeded and 95% believe their children to be very or quite happy at the school. All of these measures out-perform the average of other prep/junior day schools.
  • The school is strong on all pillars of education, with its pastoral care shining through as a particular strength and achieving significantly higher ratings than benchmark in all areas.
  • Parents describe the school as ‘welcoming’ and ‘nurturing’. These sentiments are supported by 75% rating as ‘very good’ both the process of transitioning into a new class and the way that pupils from all backgrounds are welcomed and respected.
  • Communications with parents are very good, staff are highly approachable and the school is felt to be well led.
  • Looking to the future, parents hope to see King’s preserve this warm, caring environment for their children through small class sizes and the continuation of traditional values.

Overall, pupils are happy and well cared for in the Junior School and levels of parental satisfaction are exceptionally high. As a result, the overwhelming majority of parents would not hesitate to recommend the school to others

On reading the survey results, Mrs Haas, Head of Junior School, commented:

"It is wonderful to know that the Junior School performs well above all the national key benchmarks. We will continue to strive to provide an outstanding education for children here at King's."
