Independent Learning Week

Last week saw the Second Form “off timetable” spending the week researching challenging topics to help develop techniques which aid independent learning. Pupils were divided into groups to research and construct their own narrative on a theme.  Topics ranged from the moon landing, 911 to the Holocaust.  The week culminated in an afternoon of presentations where parents and guests were invited to visit the stands and discuss the ideas behind the presentations.  A huge amount of effort was put in by the pupils and the standard of research and presentations were outstanding.
