Standing Ovation for Simon Weston at Speech Day
Mr Simon Weston, CBE, Falkland War veteran, author and charity fundraiser was guest speaker at the School Speech Day this year.
Held in Gloucester Cathedral, Speech Day celebrates the academic and non-academic achievements of all Senior School pupils over the previous academic year. Simon presented the prizes and shared his personal story of resilience, friendship, courage and community with the pupils and parents at the School.
Headmaster, David Morton commented:
"Simon Weston was a wonderful Guest of Honour at our Speech Day. His poignant, inspiring and humourous speech was greatly enjoyed by pupils, staff and parents. The standing ovation which he received was a fitting tribute to his personal warmth and empathy for our leavers. Simon Weston characterises everything that we hope our pupils will be at King's: kind, resilient, supportive and courageous."
