Fifth Form (Y11) are celebrating today, and looking forward to Sixth Form after finding out their GCSE results.

Pupils, family members and staff alike came together at King’s to celebrate and congratulate one another after an impressive set of results were recorded.

The year group have worked hard and shown an impressive attitude to their learning.  Exceptional teaching and supportive parents have of course helped them to achieve excellent results.

Almost 20% of the grades achieved were A*, well exceeding the national average of 6.5%. Of all grades 43% were A*-A, with 72% A*-B.

Nearly a quarter of the year group achieved A grades in eight subjects or more, an outstanding achievement for a cohort who are drawn from a broad range of ability.

Some of the individual successes included England Hockey player Oliver Harper who achieved Nine A* grades and two A grades; Oriana Barnes who gained seven A* grades, 8 for GCSE Maths and one A grade and Edward Chan who achieved eight A* grades, three A grades, one short-course B grade, an A in FSMQ Maths and an A* in IFS Finance.

Headmaster, Mr David Morton commented:

“I am absolutely delighted to see these excellent GCSE results for our hardworking pupils. With one in five GCSE results being the top A* grade, and more than nine out of ten pupils gaining 5 or more A*-C grades, it is clear that pupils have fully achieved their potential. Looking ahead, we are delighted also to have a large cohort joining our Sixth Form this year. We are currently developing exciting plans for our Sixth Form provision and the future looks very bright at King’s.”
