Paradise Planet

Lower and Upper Prep were treated to a fantastic performance of Paradise Planet by members of the English National Opera on Wednesday 1st May at Rendcomb College.

The four opera singers immediately engaged with the pupils with the theme of their opera of saving our planet, particularly the oceans. The children participated with three short songs which they had learnt in music lessons. They also waved their own coloured paper fish during some of the scenes.  A keyboard, clarinet and cello formed the accompaniment for the singers and added to the atmosphere. The ocean sounds were created by some of the children making particular sounds into a microphone which was then looped and added to the instrumental accompaniment. At the end our pupils had experienced a wonderfully informative, and musically engaging performance.
