Fundraising Day for Dornakal
Another mufti day is upon us and this time we are raising money for Dornakal.
Since 2008 we have had a partnership with the Dornakal Diocesan Schools in the Cathedral compound at Dornakal, Telangana, India. We are partnered especially with the Dornakal Diocesan English Medium (DDEM) school and since 2013 have been sponsoring students who, without funding, would not be able to afford their education. The DDEM School receives no government funding and has to charge minimal fees to attend. The pupils who we sponsor are from very poor families or are orphans with no relatives.
Over the years we have helped to fund various projects within the DDEM School and Penny Fayter, our Classics Teacher, keeps up regular communication and occasional visits to maintain our relationship.
Mr. Griffiths, a previous teacher at King's, is currently in Dornakal visiting the DDEM and has shared a few images with us below.
As well as taking part in mufti day, there has also been another very successful hot chocolate and cake sale at break time which has delighted our pupils!
